Device Tracking

This guide explains the functionality of device tracking and the configuration on Cisco switches.

Introduction

Device Tracking is a feature of Cisco IOS that allows the device to track the IP and MAC addresses of connected hosts in the network. When IP Device Tracking is enabled, the device maintains a database of the IP and MAC addresses of all hosts that have communicated with the device. This feature allows network administrators to keep track of the devices that are connected to the network and their location. This information can be used to troubleshoot network issues.
